John Love. Geodaesia [New York, 1796, 13 th edition]

The client provided a potential sacrificial volume, as the book was missing the front board. The spine, back board, and textblock were otherwise in good condition.

Remove back board, lift original spine with title label. Mend title page. Remove endpapers and boards from Lardner's, trim width to ensure fit to Geodaesia . New Hewit's calfskin spine toned to match original using dyes, rebacked volume with new spine and alternative boards. Reinforced original spine by mounting onto Japanese tissue, attached over new spine. [Lardner's: returned without boards]
